My favorite room that ‘asks’ for wallpaper is the powder room. A powder room (often called half bath or guest bath) is usually a small bathroom with only a toilet and a sink. To me, it is the room that most guests will see and use as it is usually located by the main living areas of the house, so it is fun to show off! The powder room is the room that can you can splurge on and let your creativity and design gene being activated. Powder rooms allow you to apply different materials, strong colors and fun patterns. With the array of wallpaper qualities we have nowadays, the powder room can be turned into a piece of art.

In this post, I pinpoint a few of my favorite designs, the ones that I could look at all day long . . .
A jelly fish in bright orange background, makes this bathroom happy and inviting, don’t you think?
Mid-Century meets traditional. The big scale and intense wallpaper floral design adds an ‘awe’ to the simplicity of the wash basin and the clean hexagonal tile. my bespoke room
A bit of a Moorish medallion pattern in rich blue makes this room exotic and rich at the same time. The geometric design here plays the role of a tile. O’Hara Interiors
The tone-on-tone ikat design in light gray makes an interesting yet understated background to the simple white vanity, making the orange shade with the bright trim and the gorgeous Chippendale orange- painted mirror pop all the more . . . Wow! Mckeithan Design Studio
Another Chippendale classic this lattice in navy and green by Thibaut, which imitates a tile wall treatment. An okay bathroom turns into a fun space!
Here the wall treatment is like a piece of art. The classic Greek key plays with the whimsy of the Pierre Frey Arty wallpaper and the bold coral vanity. Great combo! By Bradshaw Designs
Gorgeous thistle-like pattern in lavender tones. I love the calming presence of the light purple tones against the strength of the dark vanity cabinet. Ann Lowengart Interiors
The beautiful Arts and Crafts pattern here gives life to the dark simple bath space in a very unique way. I love the sconces sticking out of the scenario–very different! Palmer Weiss Interior Designs
Contemporary design meets elegance and art! The translucent legs of the vanity gracefully step back in this bathroom so the citrine mirror and the large scale wallpaper can do the talking. Nancy Nolan Interiors
If you like bold, you got it! This stunning red tulip pattern gives a warm hug to the powder room and whoever comes to visit. The smartly chosen wash basin makes a classic, timeless statement. Rebecca Loewke Interiors I am smitten by this beautiful floral pattern in blues and greens by Good Bones Design. And the ceiling color choice is right on the money… Love it!
Another classic. This Osborne and Little Derwent wallpaper is one of my favorites. I like it for all its movement, but the blue is to die for! Houzz.com
The timeless Cole & Son pear tree wallpaper rendezvous with the contemporary concrete sink. The sleek design by Creative Tonic brings to this bathroom lots of texture and an industrial feel.
Another marriage of traditional and contemporary. The blue Art Deco wallpaper breaks the ‘seriousness’ of the traditional pedestal vanity. Amy Kartheiser Design
Stars, bows and arrows and the creativity play with the many patterns, textures and shapes in an artful way. I love how the architectural wall and the unexpected yellow door somehow work together. Pulp Design Studios
There is a dash of drama and lots of mystery that comes out of this Chinoiserie wallpaper. The powder room instantly turns into something exotic and intimate. Ann Lowengart Interiors
Another Thistle-like pattern in a fabulous citron color gives a flavor of the Far East. I personally love big-scale patterns like this and how strangely enough they make a small space look bigger. Natasha Barrault
The oriental pattern in classic black background gives an exotic impression. The focus here is the wall and nothing else. The small vanity and the mirror give a ‘just be’ message. Christy Allen Designs
