Christmas Without a Christmas Tree?

Who doesn’t love a dazzling Christmas tree decorated with beautiful ornaments! And so many ways to decorate, different ornament styles, garlands and lights to choose from and make a glowing tree during the holiday festivities…

But sometimes we can’t have a tree. I remember a couple of years ago we were in the process of moving and had to stay temporarily in my son’s small apartment. What happens when your floor space isn’t right for a big tree?

Then you get creative and make your own. There is a plethora of inexpensive materials out there,  useless odds and ends, construction leftovers, attic treasures, garage sales finds that can be used creatively to make something unique and fun:

In case you didn’t know what to do with grandma’s alarm clock, here is a timely idea:

Never throw away these wine corks again! They can make you a great natural looking tree with zero cost.

For the naturalists this is a great full of texture idea. I love the felt and fury ornaments !

Ever thought you would discover the spirit of Christmas in pieces of PVC?

Sometimes the most splendid ideas are found in the ultimate simplicity. Like spray-painted wood pallet in a Christmas pattern

or this absolutely simple metal base that you can decorate with some ribbons and glass Christmas balls

source

or hand-painted wood sticks in different sizes nailed on a piece of wood.

And if you like you can add a tad of color

With this idea you can still use your favorite ornaments and family heirlooms

This one is so easy to make with pieces of foam and tissue paper. You can use different colors as you descent and the tree becomes wider.

Pieces of twine in various thickness is the core of this Christmas three. I think the round patterns and pom poms look great but you can let your imagination play…

A great way to involve the kids. Come on’ let’s find a new home to all these lost pieces of Scrabble, the Barbie shoes, the legos and the polly pockets.

So let’s get out tools going; our art supplies and all the ‘little things’ lying in our we can our garage and let’s see what we can come up with!

xoxo
